Create an e Book Store where you will save your product pdf e book and an e book library where you will be organizing computer files into folders accurately identifying each of your services or products.
Do you have brochures, data sheets, manuals and technical information for the products or services that you sell?
This is where you will store them!
Start with your first folder called “Office MY PRODUCTS” which is a branch of your main folder tree which I have called “YOU”.
Creating a Product Folder Template
If you have several different types of products it is best to start by creating a generic template which you can later copy, paste and rename with the name of each of your products as you have done in “How to Create Clients Folders” earlier in this section.
You have now created a document storage box template with sub-folders where you will save all e-files for each of your products.
Depending on your type of business, you may want to add additional folders or modify the contents of the folders within your “Product Template”.
Do this now so you have all the relevant folders for your specific type of business in your template.
From Template to Individual Products
We will now copy, paste and rename the template to create a document storage box for each of your products.
I will create three folders and will name them “Product A, Product B and Product C”. You will naturally be naming your folders with your actual product names.
Go ahead and copy the folder “Product Template”, paste the copy as a sub-branch of “Office MY PRODUCTS” and rename the copy with the name of your first product. Mine is “Product A”.
♥ Tip ♥
If you are not sure how to copy and name folders click on the link to open up Computer File Systems - Files and Folders and follow the steps on this page.
Next copy, paste and rename your “Product Template” to create two additional product folders. Mine are called “Product B and Product C” respectively and your folder tree should look similar to the one below.
You have now completed the folders making up your products’ e book store.
